Abstract
The purpose of this study was to examine the effects of Pilates Foot Program on fall prevention through differences in functional movement ability, gait ability, and dynamic balance ability of female pre-elderly. Subjects were 20 pre-elderly women aged 55-64, and they were randomized allocation to 3 groups: Pilates Foot Prgoram Group(PFPG), Tranditional Pilates Program Group(TPPG), and Control Group (CG). The program participated in a total of 24 exercises twice a week, 60 minutes, for 12 weeks. In order to confirm the effect of Pilates Foot Program, all subjects were measured body composition, Inline Lunge(IL), Hurdle Step(HS), Y Balance Test-Lower Quarter(YBT-LQ) and gait ability (GAITRiteⓇ) and collected data. The collected data were analyzed using SPSS 28.0 program to calculate the mean and standard deviation, and repeated measure two-way ANOVA and dependent t-test were conducted to verify the main effect. Main results are as follows First, no significant difference in group interaction effect in all body composition. Second, there was a significant interaction effect in both IL, and both PFPG and TPPG were significantly improved. Third, in PFPG, cadence was decreased and TPPG Stance was also significantly decreased. Fourth, in YBT-LQ, interaction effect was shown in all directions except for Anterior(AT), and the distance was improved in both PFPG and TPPG. The results of this study proved the effectiveness of the Pilates foot program developed for the prevention of falls and improvement of dynamic balance ability, FMS, gait ability and dynamic balance ability of female pre-elderly, and furthermore, it is expected to be used as basic data that can be used when developing a fall prevention exercise program.
