Abstract
The structural integrity of the aircraft suspension, a critical component within the weapon system, is influenced both its inherent design and the integration of external store system. This suspension accommodates four external stores, and the magnitude of shear force and bending resistance applied to specific segments of the suspension varies significantly based on the deployment method of the external stores. In this study, the robustness of the suspension system was evaluated by analyzing changes in the shear force and bending resistance experienced by individual sections. This analysis involved examining the inertial load characteristics induced by the suspension system. The results highlighted a significant discrepancy of nearly 200% in the shear force experienced by different sections of the suspension, depending on the external store deployment method. Additionally, a noteworthy shift of approximately 200% in the shear force was observed at the junction connecting the suspension and the aircraft. © 2024 The Korean Society of Mechanical Engineers.
