Abstract
The China, after the economic reform, started to acknowledge Confucianism by promoting its national plan in an affirmative way with Confucian and the doctrines, which had been negated since the foundation of the People's Republic of China. In 2007, the 17th National Congress of the Communist Party of China was the historical turning point for the nation to bring the 30 years of Chinese reform and Opening-up to an end and to step forward with a new China model for the next era. It was the right time to search new doctrines for China to replace the 30-years-old ideology because it just emerged as G2 feeling pressure to meet up global expectation to assert an impressive national identity to the rest of the world. In such historical context, Zhonghuasong was born as a modernized form of the traditional culture heat. Zhonghuasong was designed in order to reinvigorate Chinese culture and national spirit. It is relevant to emphasis on classical education of Xi Jinping administration of today as well as Hu Jintao administration that initiated the movement. Noting the fact that Zhonghuasong received widespread support from student groups between primary and lower secondary education, I will examine the influence of Zhonghuasong on classical education and its development in Chinese compulsory education. In order to gain an in-depth understanding on how China made their ethical and cultural progress through Zhonghuasong, this study will evaluate the contribution of Zhonghuasong to national reinforcement of classical education executed by Chinese government today.
