Abstract
The purpose of this study is to investigate how university physical education influences on students’ re-participation intention in sports for all. Participants(N=234, male=178, female=56) took part in physical education subject classes involving in golf, badminton, tennis, and bowling for one semester. The students completed two questionnaires measuring their motivational regulations and re-participating intention in sports activity that they engaged in physical education classes. The multiple linear regression analyses tested associations between motivational regulations and re-participation intention in sports activity. The results showed identified regulation was the only significant predictor for students’ re-participation in sports activity. The results highlight the importance of instructor supportive behaviors to internalize students’ identified regulation, which then more likely to increase re-participation intention in sports activity in which they participated.
