- Abstract
- The purpose of this study was to examine the relationship of physical self-perception and psychological well-being among shooting athletes with disabilities. A total of 70 (male: 56, female: 14) shooting athletes with disabilities participated in this study. We measured physical self-perception and psychological well-being. The date were collected with a self-reported questionnaire. Results showed that 1)physical self-perception's score was 3.01 and psychological well-being's score was 3.43. 2)The correlation coefficient(r) between physical self-perception and psychological well-being was –0.361 (p=0.02). 3)When subjects were divided into two group: Low and High physical self-perception, low physical self-perception group had significantly higher than high physical self-perception group on the psychological well-being(low group: 3.24±0.23, high group:3.48±0.29, p=0.006). Findings of this study may be useful in understanding the mental health status of shooting athletes with disabilities through physical self-perception and psychological well-being.
