- Abstract
- Ramsay Hunt syndrome (RHS)은 안면신경(facial nerve)에 수두대상포진바이러스(varicella-zoster virus)가 감염되어 발생하는 질환으로, 안면신경의 무릎신경절(geniculate ganglion)을 침범하여 얼굴과 귀에 분포된 감각 신경 가지에서 재활성화하여 발병한다[1]. 편측 귀 통증, 동측 안면마비, 외이도와 귓바퀴에 소수포가 동반된 발진이 전형적으로 나타나며, 심할 경우 청력 손실이나 미각 손실, 평형기관의 손상, 뇌염 등의 신경학적 이상 증상이 나타나기도 한다[2].
