진로전담교사 지각에 의한 학교관리자의 진로교육 중요성 인식과 진로전담교사 직무수행 관계에서 진로교육 지원의 매개효과

Abstract

이 연구의 목적은 고등학교 진로교육에서 학교관리자(교장 및 교감)의 진로교육 중요성 인식과 진로전담교사 직무수행 간의 관계에서 진로교육 지원의 매개효과를 확인하는 것이다. 이를 위하여 교육부와 한국직업능력개발원이 실시한 <2020 진로교육 현황조사>에 참여한 진로전담교사 400명의 응답 결과를 분석하였다. 자료 분석 결과는 다음과 같이 나타났다. 우선, 학교관리자의 진로교육 중요성 인식은 진로전담교사의 직무수행에 정적인 영향을 미쳤고, 진로교육 지원 정도에도 정적인 관계가 있는 것으로 나타났다. 또한, 학교관리자 진로교육 중요성 인식변인 통제 하에 학교관리자 진로교육 지원이 진로전담교사의 직무수행에 정적인 영향을 가진다는 사실을 나타냈다. 이와 같은 회귀분석을 기반으로 본 연구는 Sobel Test와 Bootstrapping을 통해 매개효과 유의성을 검증하였고, 학교관리자 진로교육 중요성 인식은 진로교육 지원을 통해서 진로전담교사 직무수행 정도에 영향을 미친다는 사실(완전 매개효과)을 확인하였다. 본 연구의 결과는 고등학교에서 학교관리자가 진로교육을 중요하게 생각하고 교사들에게 필요한 지원을 제공할수록, 진로전담교사들은 원활하게 직무를 수행할 수 있다는 시사점을 밝혔다.

The purpose of this study is to examine the mediating effect of school administrators’(principals and vice-principals) support for career education in the relationship between their perception about the importance of career education and career teachers’ job performance. In this current study, we used the data of the ‘School Career Education Survey in 2020’ which is administered by the Ministry of Education and Korea Research Institute for Vocational Education & Training. The participants of this study were 400 career teachers of high schools. The major findings were as follows: First, school administrators’ perception about the career education positively predicted the career teacher’s job performance. Second, school administrators’ perception about the career education is positively related to their support for career education. Finally, based on the Sobel Test, this study showed that school administrators’ support for career education plays a completely mediating role in the relationship between school administrator’s perception about career education and career teacher’s job performance. The result of this research implicates that the more school administrators put importance into career education and support it, the better career teachers’ job performance is improved.
