- Abstract
- An electrically small top-loaded mono-cone antenna with wide bandwidth is proposed. By employing the mono-cone with top-hat, slot, shorting pins, cylinder, and sub-cylinder elements, the wide bandwidth is achieved. By connecting the shorting pins from the mono-cone top-hat to the ground plane, the antenna bandwidth at the low frequency limit is expanded. By employing the cylinder elements, the impedance matching at the mid and high frequency bands is improved. Furthermore, the sub-cylinder elements expand the antenna bandwidth at the high frequency limit. The -10 dB reflection coefficient bandwidth of the proposed antenna is ranging from 0.52 GHz to 2.12 GHz.
