- Abstract
- 본 연구는 중국 내 대표적 이주아동 집단인 유동아동에 주목하고 이들의 교육포부에 대해 실증적으로 살펴보았다. 특히, 유동아동이 지각한 교사지지와 교육포부 간의 관계를 살펴보고 그 관계에서 학교적응의 매개효과를 검토하고자 했다. 이를 위해 중국교육패널조사(China Education Panel Survey: CEPS) 2014-2015 추가 자료를 분석하였다. 분석 결과, 유동아동이 지각한 교사지지와 학교적응은 교육포부와 모두 정적 관계를 보였다. 또한 교사지지와 교육포부의 관계에서 학교적응이 부분매개 효과를 갖는 것으로 나타났다. 유동아동은 부모의 낮은 사회경제적 지위로 인해 교육포부 면에서 불리한 위치에 놓여 있는 경향이 있다. 본 연구의 결과는 이러한 불리함을 어느 정도 줄일 수 있는 요인으로서 학교 내 교사지지와 유동아동의 학교적응에 주목해야 할 필요성을 시사한다.
The purpose of this study was to estimate the mediation effect of school adjustment in the relationship between perceived teacher support and educational aspirations of Chinese migrant children. To this end, this study analyzed data from China Education Panel Survey 2014-2015. To examine whether school adjustment mediates the relationship between perceived teacher support and educational aspirations of Chinese migrant children, Baron and Kenny’s hierarchical multiple regression analysis was utilized. The result revealed that: (1) the school adjustment of Chinese migrant children was significantly lower than that of non-migrant children; (2) perceived teacher support and its three sub-dimensions had positive effects on educational aspirations and school adjustment; (3) school adjustment mediates the relationship between perceived teacher support and educational aspirations of Chinese migrant children. The most important component for enhancing student success lies in public education. The findings of this study highlight the importance of paying attention to teacher support and school adjustment to nurture educational aspirations of migrant children.
