Abstract
This study was founded on the awareness of the problem that the space of Soviet Korean people, the Far East Asia, is recognized as being limited to the space of independent fighters, and that little is known in Korea about the anti-Japanese consciousness of Soviet Korean cultural artists and related popular cultural movements. Writers who were the focus of this study such as Cho Myeong-hui, Yeon Seong-yong, and Tae Jang-chun, among others, come to gain distinct ideologies and awareness by living through the Japanese aggression, colonization, and weary life of diaspora from a young age, and sought to reveal these things through literature, especially in their plays. As examples, the discussion centered on the expression of anti-Japanese resistance and socialist national consciousness in conjunction with the Soviet revolution, the uplift of ethnic consciousness through the adaptation and acceptance of Korean classical works, the literary realization of existential figures, and the dramatization of real heroes. Now is the time to reassess their feats and conduct more full-fledged research into their work and performances.
