- Abstract
- This study presents a measurement method to determine the dynamic properties of the jointed structure using the wave propagation approach. Complex translational and rotational stiffness were used to represent a bolted joint in the beam. The frequency dependent variation of the joint stiffness and its loss factor was obtained at relatively high frequencies using the beam transfer function method. The effect of joint geometry and material properties on wave propagation through the bolted joint was investigated from the measured vibration response.
