dc.description.abstractThe purpose of this study was to collect the opinions of homeroom teachers, survival swimmers, and students who have participated in survival swimming to identify problems and to seek ways to improve the curriculum to provide basic data for making an educational model suitable for the reality of Korea. Accordingly, the perception of teachers, leaders, and students about survival swimming education in elementary school was examined. In-depth interviews were conducted with 10 teachers, 10 leaders, and a total of 20 people. In addition, a questionnaire was conducted for 1,400 learners. Through this, the results of the study to provide basic data for improving the survival and swimming education model by identifying problems in the survival and swimming education field are as follows. First, teachers and leaders recognized the lack of education time as a problem. Second, teachers and leaders were aware of the problems in the survival swimming education program. Third, in a survey of learners' perception of survival swimming education program, survival swimming education learned in elementary school was negative in importance. In addition, the learning level of survival swimming education was positively recognized, and it was found that survival swimming education was recognized as a very necessary education in the field. Fourth, learners were partially positive as a result of the analysis of the degree of understanding and practice of water safety education. Fifth, in terms of improvement of survival swimming education recognized by learners,' ‘interesting class progress’, ‘leader's expertise’, ‘actual lifesaving experience learning’, ‘sufficient class time’, ‘water play accident prevention education’, ‘close swimming pool’, ‘emergency education’, and ‘clothing swimming’ in order.-
