- Abstract
- Quasi-amorphous photonic solutions (QAPS) exhibiting high color saturation and color gamut were prepared by using SiO2 nanoparticles modified with polydopamine (FDA). When colloidal SiO2 nanoparticles were coated with thin FDA shells, the optical properties of QAPS based on SiO2 nanoparticles were significantly enhanced. The reflectance of samples made of SiO2@PDA was higher than that of sample made of bare SiO2 by over 200%. The color gamut of samples made of SiO2@PDA was also improved by 500% comparing with that of sample made of bare SiO2.
