- Abstract
- Since the professional baseball league is very closely associated with relevant local communities in terms of economic, political, social and cultural perspectives, it has emphasized its position as a quasi-public goods in sports industry domain. Professional sport club also plays a role of representing a city or a region, in other words, a branding role of a city. The professional baseball has a representative nature and enables to elevate the self-esteem with regard to the region. In this context, it is called as a public goods that performs the functions for common benefits and public interests. This study performed the analyses through Expert Delphi technique and AHP technique for public nature of a sports club and a stadium of the local government, strategy for maintaining a balance between public nature and profit pursuit, factors and practical options for expanding the public nature of stadium, as well as conducted the priority and weighting analysis. The Results of major factors are finance, administration(system), culture, and openness. The financial factor and the administrative(system) factor were found to be important factors. In order to expand publicity, a professional baseball field must be transformed into a cultural park.
