- Abstract
- This paper aimed to analyze the annual energy consumption of the heat pump-driven liquid desiccant (HPLD) system combined with a fuel cell in the plant factory. Through simulation, it is found that in a plant factory with an area of 200 square meters, the HPLD air conditioning system only needs 48.12MWh of fuel and 25.66MWh of electricity for operation throughout the year. The proton exchange membrane fuel cell (PEMFC) selected in this study can meet 79.9% of the electricity and 76.4% of the heat demand of this plant factory. At the same time, fuel cell by-products (i.e., water and carbon dioxide) can be supplied to plants. It can meet 7.2% of the daily water demand of plants and reduce 18.5% of carbon dioxide emissions.
