Abstract
This study aims to make smart home/community more feasible and effective beyond the existing technology-oriented research. To this end, the wellness of single-person households was investigated in a multi-dimensional ways to identify what are important and necessary, and to develop a smart home service based on a clear understanding of the users. The subjects of the survey were limited to those living alone while living in a single household of 20-40s living in Seoul. A Total of 100 questionnaires were used for analysis, and the data were analyzed by independent sample T test and cross analysis using SPSS 23. As a result, the single-person households did not have much anxiety or loneliness about living alone and were relatively stable and positive mentally and emotionally. The social level scores were the lowest, and healthy and desirable social support such as exchange, belonging, and safety were needed to solve this problem. Based on the resylt, we proposed the direction for the development of smart home/community, which is divided into five categories: exercise, exchange/belongings, safety, self-development, and hobby/cultural activities. The development of smart home/community includes units and public spaces in multi-family housing, community facilities available to residents, and various services that can be provided.
