- Abstract
- In this paper, we propose a video streaming scheme based on contact scheduling for space Internet over Delay/Disruption Tolerant Networks (DTNs). A certain node in the space environment communicates with ground hosts according to the contact scheduling, so data before the contact time cannot be streamed. In this paper, the proposed video streaming scheme compresses video data proportional to the contact scheduling to send the data during the contact time. Especially, when real-time events occur within the contact time, the corresponding event data will be transmitted immediately based on the priority. Through the experimental results, we confirm that the event data can be transmitted without loss as compared with the conventional video streaming schemes.
