- Abstract
- A concert hall in which the early decay time (EDT) differs by less than 10% from the reverberation time (RT) and the bass ratio is 1.15 to 1.25, and a variable RT of 0.5 s is proposed for the average RT of 2.0 s. In addition, the balance between early and late arriving energy (C80, Clarity) is within ± 2 dB, the sound strength (G) is over 5 dB, and the lateral reflection ratio (LF) is 0.2-0.4. As the acoustic parameters proposed affect each other, the way of achieving the design goal changes according to the shape, size, and musical genre of the hall. To examine the mutual influence of the acoustic parameters in the design of the hall, the applicable methods for acoustical design of actual concert halls were investigated through measurement data and simulation results with computer models
