- Abstract
- In this study, the teenage room styles were typed through systematic process. Thus, teenage room styles were classified into six types: modern, romantic, casual, industrial, funky, and natural style. The characteristics of each style shown in the teenage room are as follows. The modern style was expressed with a moderation of decorative elements. And the shape of furniture was straight and simple. Also, the achromatic color was used as dominant color, and the accent color of high chroma was used in the fabric or props. The romantic style was decorated with excessive decoration, soft and bright colors were used to create a feminine atmosphere. In the furniture, the expression of curvilinear form was prominently expressed. In casual style, the primary color was used mainly, and the atmosphere with the active feeling was produced. In some cases, patterns of geometric expression were used in fabrics and walls, and some patterns of modern style appeared in furniture. The industrial style consists of mass-produced products, including prefabricated panel ceilings, pipes, metalwork, and bricks, throughout the interior components. In addition, old wood or iron were used, and a vintage atmosphere was also created. In the funky style, graffiti and contrasting paintings were painted on walls and small items, creating an exhilarating atmosphere. A non-formal expression was identified in the overall aspect of the interior components. Natural style used wood material in furniture and floor. In color, white, oak and beige colors were mainly used.
