Abstract
Field measurements were conducted with twenty-three sample houses during one year to obtain the information of occupants' natural ventilation behavior. To analyze the actual amount of natural ventilation during windows opened, three kinds of estimation method were compared based on the measured indoor CO2 concentrations. The methods were classified as the valid range of the indoor CO2 concentrations which used for the analysis. As the result of comparing three methods, there were specific distinctions between each method and the first ten minutes of indoor CO2 concentrations after windows opened can represent the general declining trend. From the first ten minutes of indoor CO2 concentrations the natural ventilation rate was calculated, and the actual amount of natural ventilation was estimated with the natural ventilation rate and the window opening hours.
