한국 자동차산업의 산업내무역 동태적 변화에 대한 분석 : 對 미국과 중국을 중심으로

Abstract

본 연구는 관세청에서 HS코드 6단위로 분류한 자동차산업 237개 항목을 분석 대상으로 하여 산업무역박스를 활용해 1996∼2015년 기간 동안 한·미 그리고 한·중 간 자동차산업의 산업내무역을 분석하였다. 특히, 본 연구에서는 최근 자동차산업에서 전기·전자장치 비중이 빠르게 증가하고 있는 사안을 감안, 자동차산업을 완성차, 전기·전자장치, 기타 부품으로 세분화하여 분석하였다. 분석의 결과, 한국의 미국에 대한 교역패턴은 수출우위 산업으로 산업내무역이 지속 증가하는 추세로 나타났으나, 미래 자동차산업의 핵심 분야인 전기·전자장치에서는 2009년 이후 수입우위 산업으로 전환되고 산업내무역이 감소하고 있는 것으로 나타났다. 이어서 중국과의 교역에서는 전기·전자장치 분야에서 수출우위이면서 산업내무역도 확대되는 변화를 보이는 것으로 나타났다.

This paper examines the intra-industry trade between Korea & US and between Korea & China using the industry trade box. It analyses 237 items of automobile industry classified by HS Code 6 units in Korea Customs Service from 1996 to 2015. As the proportion of electronic parts in the automobile industry has been rapidly increasing, this study divides the automobile industry into finished cars, electric and electronic devices and other parts. The result of the analysis shows that Korea's trade pattern with the United States is an export-oriented industry. However, electrical and electronic components, which are key sectors of the future automobile industry, have been turned into import-dominated industry since 2009 and intra-industry trade has been on the decline. On the other hand, trade with China shows that there is export dominance in the field of electric and electronic devices, and that intra-industry trade is on the rise.
