Abstract
t This paper aims to propose the dedicated outdoor air system(DOAS) using thermoelectric module(TEM) and to analyze the energy consumption and performance comparing with reference DOAS. The proposed DOAS is composed with desiccant wheel for maintaining humidity ratio of indoor air. In a cooling season, heating source is required for regeneration heat of desiccant wheel and cooling source is required for suppling the set-point temperature. When direct current supply to the thermoelectric module, heating and cooling source is formed each side. In this proposed system, heating source of TEM is supplied to regeneration heat and cooling source of TEM is supplied for maintaining supply air set point temperature. To analyze energy consumption and performance of the proposed system, TRNSYS 17 and engineering equation solver(EES) is used for energy simulation. The results showed that the regeneration heat energy and total energy of the proposed DOAS are saved to 71% and 40% than reference DOAS using desiccant wheel, respectively.
