- Abstract
- The purpose of this paper is to evaluate the applicability of a liquid desiccant and evaporative cooling assisted 100% out door air system (LD-IDECOAS) in underground spaces. Detailed energy simulation is performed for estimating the energy saving potential of the LD-IDECOAS. Simulation is conducted using TRNSYS 17 and a commercial engineering equation solver program (EES). The district heating system in the LD-IDECOAS supplies heat energy for regeneration of desiccant. Thermal load of the underground spaces shows different pattern compared with that of the above ground space. Thermal load of underground space showed smaller variation compared with that of above ground space because of less changes of surroundings. As a results, LD-IDECOAS of underground spaces is show energy saving potential compared to the LD-IDECOAS of above ground space
