디자인관련 진로적성탐색을 위한 자유학기제 주제선택 프로그램개발 및 효과성 분석 - 웹툰 교육프로그램을 중심으로 -

Abstract

2016년 자유학기제의 전면실시로 중학생들의 진로와흥미, 관심사를 반영하고 경험하는 프로그램들이 다양하게 개발되고 있다. 디자인관련 선택프로그램 중 최근 들어 청소년들의 관심직업으로 급부상중인 ‘웹툰작가’관련 수업은 교육현장에서 수요는 많지만 그에따른 교육프로그램 개발은 미흡한 실정이다. 따라서본 연구에서는 한국과학창의재단에서 실시한 조사에서중학생들의 직업선호도가 높은 ‘웹툰 작가’에 대한 자유학기제 주제선택프로그램을 개발하고 웹툰만의 특성이 잘 들어가는 전문성 있는 교육프로그램을 개발하고자 하였다. 그리고 웹툰 교육프로그램의 효과성 증명을 위해 관심도와 만족도 조사를 진행하는 것으로 하였다. 개발된 웹툰 교육프로그램은 유형A, B로 나누어유형A를 통해 웹툰의 스토리를 제작할 수 있도록 하고, 제작한 스토리를 바탕으로 체계적인 웹툰 제작 기술 및 방법을 경험하는 것을 유형B로 설정하여 각 학교 상황에 따라 융통성 있게 적용할 수 있도록 5차시에서 10차시까지 모듈화하여 진행할 수 있도록 구성하였다. 결과물은 웹툰 공유 플랫폼’에 업로드하여 아마추어 웹툰 작가로서의 등단하는 성취의 경험을 제공하였다. 프로그램의 효과성은 2015년 3월부터 4월까지 서울시 동작구 소재 J중학교 자유학기제 주제선택 프로그램 ‘웹툰 작가’ 반을 지원한 학생 22명을 대상으로 8차시 시범수업을 진행하여 프로그램 만족도 및 흥미도 사전사후 조사를 통해 분석되었다. 그 결과, 수업에 대한 만족도와 웹툰 작가에 대한이해도 부분에서 유의미하게 향상되었다. 결과적으로본 연구를 통해 개발된 자유학기제 주제선택 프로그램‘웹툰 작가’교육은 학생들의 기호에 맞는 프로그램으로서 학생들에게 진로 탐색 및 성취의 기쁨과 만족도를제공할 수 있었다.

The introduction of an exam-free semester in 2016 has accelerated the development of various hands-on programs in consideration of the career, interest and concerns of middle school students. In recent years, webtoon writer has emerged as one of high-profile occupations among adolescents, and there is a lot of demand for classes on webtoon writer. In fact, however, not much efforts have ever been made to develop related educational programs. According to a survey conducted by Korea Foundation for the Advancement of Science & Creativity, middle school students had lots of preference for this occupation. The purpose of this study was, therefore, to develop an optional test-free semester program for webtoon writer and to examine its effectiveness after conducting it on a trial basis. The webtoon education program developed in this study was divided into type A and type B. Type A was to write a storyline, and type B was to experience how to produce a webtoon based on the storyline. The program was modularized so that teachers could conduct it flexibly in five to 10 sessions according to school circumstances. And a webtoon platform was prepared, onto which students could uproad their results to feel a sense of achievement as amateur webtoon writers. To determine the effectiveness of the program, 22 students who signed up for a webtoon writer class among optional test-free semester programs in a middle school located in Dongjak-gu, Seoul, took eight model lessons, and their satisfaction with the program and interest were investigated before and after the program. As a result, there was a significant increase in satisfaction level with the lessons, and they showed a significant improvement in understanding of webtoon writer as well. In conclusion, the optional exam-free semester program for education on webtoon writer turned out to be a program that suited the taste of the students, and that made it possible for them to explore their own career, to feel the joy of achievement and to be satisfied.
