Abstract
The main purpose of this research is to evaluate the applicability of a liquid desiccant and evaporative cooling-assisted 100% outdoor air system (LD-IDECOAS) on marine space in cooling season operation. To analyze the cooling season operation of the LD-IDECOAS, the energy and ventilation simulations were conducted for two cabin. The area of each cabin was 16.5m2 and required thermal load of the cabin was estimated by using the ISO-7547 standard considering typical design condition. The energy simulation was determined by using a engineering equation solver (EES), and the ventilation performance was evaluated via multi-zone indoor air quality analysis program (CONTAM). The energy and ventilation performance of the LD-IDEOCAS were compared with that of the air-conditioning system of a conventional in marine space (e.g., constant air volume system (CAV)).
