- Abstract
- The purpose of this study is to evaluate the applicability and energy saving potentials of heat source from district heating applied to desiccant-enhanced evaporative(DEVap) air conditioning. DEVap system uses a thermally activated cooling technology but not vapor compression. In general, district heat source is obtained from waste heat of combined heat and power(CHP) systems. In this paper, DEVap with district heat source consumes 19.5% less primary energy compared to variable air volume(VAV) system with district heat source and 36.8% less energy compared to DEVap with conventional energy supply system in summer.
