Abstract
Heath-friendly housing construction standard obligates to perform flush-out after new construction and before occupancy, which is a process to exhaust indoor contaminants to outdoor. Standard of performing flush-out recommends to maintain indoor temperature over 16℃ and relative humidity below 60%. However, maintaining recommended indoor environment is difficult because of additional cost such as heating energy cost especially during winter. Therefore, ventilation energy cost and heating energy cost during maintaining indoor temperature for flush-out is analyzed by regions in Korea in this study. To do this, a representative housing unit from multi-family residential building was modeled using building energy simulation. Then, ventilation and heating energy cost when performing flush-out during winter in various conditions were calculated and the results were analyzed.
