전문화 수준과 동기의 관계에 대한 비판적 분석 : 국내외 선행연구의 내용분석

Abstract

본 연구의 목적은 레크리에이션 전문화와 동기의 관계에 대한 국내외 선행연구를 대상으로 비판적인 분석을 통해 전문화와 동기 연구의 현황과 문제점 및 향후 연구과제를 제시하는 것이다. 이를 위하여 1990년 이후의 선행연구를 수집하였고, 연구경향분석과 전문화 수준과 동기의 관계 분석으로 구분하여 내용분석을 실시하였다. 연구결과, 국내연구는 국외에 비해 관련 연구수가 적을 뿐 아니라 적용된 레크리에이션 유형이나 분석방법도 다양하지 못한 것으로 나타났다. 또한 레크리에이션 전문화가 ‘과정’의 개념임에도 불구하고, 동기과정적 접근이 아닌 동기유형적 접근으로 분석함으로써 연구자마다 다른 동기 유형을 설정하여 전문화 수준과 동기간의 관계 비교를 어렵게 하고 있다. 그래서 일부의 선행연구들은 일반동기와 특정활동중심동기로 구분하여 분석을 시도한바 있으나, 이 마저도 전문화와 동기의 관계에 대하여 일치된 결론을 나타내지 못하고있다. 따라서 향후에는 레크리에이션 전문화 현상에서 동기의 변화에 대한 이론적 논의가 활발히 진행될 필요가 있으며, 아웃도어 레크리에이션을 포함하여 다양한 레크리에이션 유형과 분석방법을 적용하고, 내외재동기 유형과 같은 동기과정론적 관점을 적용하여입체적인 분석을 할 필요가 있다.

This study explores how motivation studies in recreational specializationhave been going on through the critical literature review to initiate theorization ofthe relationship between specialization and motive. To achieve this, in-depthcomparative literature review with content analysis was carried out. Subjects werestudies on recreational specialization and motivation among international anddomestic journal articles, and domestic thesis since 1990. Total twenty-fourstudies were reviewed. This comprehensive analysis suggests three issues. First,it is necessary for researchers to actively discuss the change of motivation inspecializing recreational participants. Secondly, diversification of recreation typeand method is required. Applying various outdoor recreation activities andstatistical analysis such as SEM or non-linear regression are needed to determinethe relationship between motivation and specialization. Thirdly, motivationaltypology approach has been used even though specialization is defined as ‘process’. Thus, motivation procedural theory such as intrinsic/extrinsic motivation typeshould be applied to motivation research in order to provide consistent outcomesand theoretic generalization.
