dc.description.abstractThis paper presents real-time fuel consumption rate based on energy. The existing instant fuel efficiency function is calculated variation of distance over fuel consumption. While vehicle coasting down, however, the fuel consumption is zero and the instant fuel efficiency is infinity. In this study, the energy based fuel instant efficiency is suggested. This method use sum of fuel consumption and kinetic energy instead of only fuel consumption. This function is simulated using CarSim®¬ simulator and Simulink computer program for verifying its effectiveness.-
