장애인의 가구소득과 취업여부가 여가활동 유형 및 삶의 만족도에 미치는 영향

Abstract

본 연구는 장애인의 경제적 상황이 삶의 만족도에 미치는 영향을 여가를 중심으로 살펴보았다. 구체적으로 장애인의 장애 요인(장애등급, 장애유형, 장애지속기간, 중복장애 여부)과 사회인구학적 요인(성별, 연령, 교육수준, 거주지역, 가족구성원의 수)의 영향을 통제한 상태에서 가구소득과 취업여부가 여가활동 유형과 삶의 만족도에 미치는 직접효과와 상호작용효과를 검증하였다. 이를 위하여 장애인고용실태조사 자료의 1-5차년도 자료를 사용하여 패널 로짓 분석을 실시하였다. 먼저 여가활동 유형에 대한 분석결과에 의하면, 가구의 소득수준이 높을수록 장애인의 적극적 여가활동 가능성이 높은 것으로 나타났다. 취업여부는 여가활동유형에 유의미한 독립적 효과가 없는 것으로 나타났으나, 가구소득과 취업여부 간의 상호작용효과는 유의미하였다. 가구소득, 취업여부, 그리고 여가활동유형이 삶의 만족도에 미치는 영향을 살펴본 결과, 가구소득과 취업여부, 여가활동유형 모두 삶의 만족도에 정의 효과가 있는 것으로 나타났다. 더불어 가구소득과 취업여부 간의 상호작용 효과가 유의미하였다. 이는 취업 장애인의 경우, 가구소득이 삶의 만족도에 미치는 정의 효과가 미취업 장애인에 비해서 크다는 것을 보여준다. 이와 같은 결과는 가구의 소득수준에 따른 장애인의 여가불평등이 존재하며, 이러한 여가불평등은 장애인이 인식하는 삶의 질의 차이로 이어짐을 실증적으로 설명한다. 또한 장애인의 가구소득에 따른 여가활동과 주관적인 삶의 질에 대한 인식이 취업여부에 따라 다르다는 것을 보여준다.

The study examines how leisure inequality among the disabled is associated with household income and employment status. In specific, controlling for the effects of disability factors(the severity of disability, the type of disability, the length of disability, multiple disabilities) and socio-demographic factors(gender, age, education, residential areas, the number of family members), the effects of household income and employment status on leisure activities among the disabled were examined. The study also examined the effects of household income, employment status, and leisure activities on life satisfaction. Panel logit analyses were performed using data from the first five waves of Panel Study on the Employment for the Disabled. First, household income was positively associated with the likelihood of participation in active leisure activities Employment status did not have significant direct effects on leisure activities, but interacted with household income in explaining the likelihood of participation in active leisure activities. Results of the second panel logit analysis on life satisfaction revealed that household income, employment status, and participation in active leisure activities had positive effects on life satisfaction among the disabled. In addition, there was a significant interaction effect between household income and employment status in explaining life satisfaction among the disabled. The effects of household income on life satisfaction were stronger for the disabled who were employed as compared with the unemployed counterparts. The current study’s results imply that economic inequality leads to leisure inequality and disparities in reported life satisfaction among the disabled.
