- Abstract
- "High cost and uncertainty have been obstacles to successful commercial applications of gel treatment. This study describes a systematic series of steps from optimization to uncertainty assessment in the application of gel treatment on various heterogeneous reservoirs. Injection design, which corresponds to concentration, slug size, injection rate and separate injection, are optimized. It improves maximum net present value (NPV) over 14% above than base injection design. By means of Monte Carlo simulation based on sensitivity analysis, uncertainty assessment regarding NPV has revealed that initial saturation, porosity and residual oil saturation are dominated parameters.
