- Abstract
- The heat transport and fluid flow with forced convection across a locally heated square cylinder near a wall were investigated using numerical simulations. A uniform heat flux was applied to half of the square cylinder to simulate local heating. The parameters that were varied in this study were the Reynolds number and the distance between the wall and the square cylinder. Critical points were identified at which the system exhibited a transition between oscillatory flow and steady flow. Each of these flow regimes was investigated, and the effects of the fluid flow on the heat transport were examined.
