- Abstract
- The main purpose ofthis paperis to introducea hot-water cooling system integrated with a desiccant and evaporative cooling system for a data center cooling. The applicability of the suggested system is evaluated using a heat transfer simulation. Then, the energy saving potential of the proposed system is determined in relation to a conventional air-cooling system. The proposed system is quantitatively simulated by using TRNSYS 16 and a commercial equation-solver program. The results show that the proposed system can save more than 80% of the operating power for a data center and reduce the power usage effectiveness value from 1.5 to 1.15. It is also found that the proposed system consumes approximately 80% less annual operating energy compared with the conventional air-cooling system.
