- Abstract
- In this paper, We propose a statistical approach for modeling parametrically the hand shape of the human. Our method is comprised of four step. The first step is database construction phase, we build a data satisfies the correspondence between template model and target models to allow statistical analysis of hand shape change from the coordinates of the point that we have received from the 3D scan data. The second one is the statistical analysis, We performed principal component analysis(PCA) to analyze the correlation structure of the data. Therefore, we can reduce the number of dimensions while minimizing the loss of data. The last step is generation of new model. We input the parameters of measurement about hand. We can be then obtained other model of hand except for the size of database model. It is provided useful for tool parametric human hand shape modeling based on statistical approach to product design.
