Abstract
This paper presents the multi-performance structural optimization process of engine cradle of vehicle for weight reduction satisfying the variety performance requirements. The kriging model is employed to apply the thickness optimization considering static stiffness, durability and permanent displacement constraints. By using the thickness optimization results, topology optimization is performed to reduce additional weights by the optimization problem that minimizes the weight under static stiffness and durability constraints. Based on topology optimization results, we perform the shape optimization and obtain the optimal structure whose weight is reduced compared to the initial design. It is confirmed that the lightweight engine cradle meets three performance requirements.
