- Abstract
- Specular and diffusive relections have been investigated in temporal structures of room impulse responses (IRs) at different positions in a 1:10 scale model hall. The wavelet transformation coefficients were calculated for detection of specular and diffusive reflections along with the degree of diffuseness in IRs. From the estimation of arrival direction of binaural impulse response the reflective surfaces of the hall could be specifed as responsible for strong specular and diffusive reflections. Further, the nature of reflections has been estimated by computing effective duration (τd). The τd is proposed to be an objective acoustic parameter for sound field diffuseness and as a measure of degree of diffuseness.
