- Abstract
- A dual-band on-body repeater antenna for medical self-monitoring applications is proposed. The proposed dual-band antenna has the field distribution concentrated toward human body for communication with the implanted devices in 5.8 GHz industrial, scientific, and medical band. In addition, in order to transmit biological information collected from the implanted devices to self-monitoring devices located on human body, the proposed antenna has the field distribution along the surface of body by using the higher mode microstrip patch for the on-body communication in 2.45 GHz industrial, scientific, and medical band.
