Abstract
Cancellous bone is strongly dependent upon the orientation of trabecula. One way to describe the orientation of trabecula is the fabric tensor. In the expression of fabric tensor, we introduce two unknown anisotropic coefficients, AiE and AijP. The introduced anisotropic coefficients AiE and A ijP, which are determined by fabric tensor, are expressed by three unknown coefficients d1, d2, and d3, and the porosity φ. In this calculation, three unknown coefficients are reduced to two unknown coefficients, d1 and d3, and the variation of anisotropic coefficients AiE and AijP are illustrated. As a conclusion, the anisotropic coefficient AiE, which is related to the elastic modulus, is mostly determined by unknown coefficient d1, but the anisotropic coefficient AijP, which is related to Poisson's ratio, is mostly determined by unknown coefficient d3.
