- Abstract
- In this study, 2D finite-element study was performed to evaluate the lap spliced length of GFRP rebar of concrete beam designed according to requirements of the current design codes. The analysis models using the general-purpose computer program ABAQUS 6.10-1(2010) are based on the test results of previous researcher. The effects of spliced length and GFRP reinforcement ratio of concrete beam were described in this paper. Total 63 analytical models were considered and nonlinear Finite Element Method (FEM) analysis was conducted. From the analytical results, it was found that when the GFRP reinforcement is under the balanced reinforcement ratio, 1.7ld is necessary and 1.6 ld is necessary when the GFRP reinforcement is above the balanced reinforcement ratio.
