- Abstract
- The key design parameters for the design of N2 expander cycles and their impacts on the performance of cycle with sensitivity analysis were studied. Different structural options were modeled, which allowed screening different network configurations of cycles as well as improving the cycle efficiency. Heat Integration technique was used to understand how the cold and hot streams were interacted in N2 expander cycles, and how key design parameters influence the thermodynamic performance of the cycle. Case study is presented to discuss how the heat integration method is applied in the design of natural gas liquefaction cycles. This is an abstract of a paper presented at the CHISA 2012 - 20th International Congress of Chemical and Process Engineering and PRES 2012 - 15th Conference on Process Integration, Modelling and Optimisation for Energy Saving and Pollution Reduction (Prague, Czech Republic 8/25-29/2012).
