푸코의 규율권력을 통해 본 여성여가 - 프로야구 관람객을 대상으로 -

Abstract

본 연구에서는 푸코의 규율권력 개념을 통해 여성여가를 분석하였다. 여성들은 스스로를 주체로 인식하고 주체적인 경험으로서 야구 관람이라는 여가활동을 하고 있지만 관계와 지식, 시선이라는 푸코의 관점에서 분석한 결과, 여성의 야구 관람활동의 경험과 활동을 규율하고 있는 사회적 권력의 통제가 작용하고 있었다. 여성은 야구관람 여가활동의 주체였지만 여성들이 야구에 관심을 갖고 야구 관람을 즐기는 과정에는 타인과의 관계나 사회적 인식과 같은 권력이 작용하여 그들의 행위를 감시하고 규율하고 있었다. 그리고 권력의 작용에 의해 생산된 지식은 여성의 의사결정을 유도하고 그들의 활동을 규정짓고 있었다. 또한 여성은 자신을 향한 시선에 의해 규율되는 권력의 대상임과 동시에 여가활동의 주체로서 권력적 시선을 야구선수들에게 행사하고 있는 것으로 나타났다. 본 연구는 경험적인 시도를 통해 주체와 행위가 사회적인 권력에 의해 어떻게 만들어지고 있는지에 대한 문제를 여성의 여가활동에 적용했다는 점과 여가와 삶의 주체인 우리가 스스로의 사고와 행위를 제고할 수 있는 기회를 제공한다는 점에서 여가문화 및 여가사회학 분야에서 학문적인 의의를 갖는다.

In this study, the women's leisure was analyzed through Foucault’s disciplinary power concept. The women recognize themselves as the subject and take leisure activity of viewing games as the subjective experience but it was controlled by the social power which rules the experience and activity of the women's viewing games activity in the results of analysis from Foucault’s viewpoints such as relationships, knowledge and attention. The women were the subject of viewing games leisure activity, but the powers such as relations with others or the social awareness worked on the process that women have interests about baseball and enjoy viewing games, so the power watches and rules their behavior. In addition, the knowledge produced by the interaction of power induces the women's decision making and regulates their activity. And the women are the target of power who are ruled by attention toward them, and the subject of the leisure activity, so it showed that they exerted the authoritarian attention to the baseball players. This study has the academic significance in the leisure culture and leisure sociology area by applying the issue about how the subject and behavior are made by the social power through the experiential attempt, and by providing the opportunity to increase our thinking and activity as the subject of the leisure and life.
