- Abstract
- ZnO particles of disk shape were synthesized using surfactant (sodium dodecyl sulfate) and co-surfactant (iso-butyl alcohol) via hydrothermal method in aqueous solution. Surfactant and co-surfactant suppressed the growth of ZnO particles along C-axis. This suppression resulted in the formation of disk-shaped ZnO particles. The properties of disk-shaped ZnO particles including crystallinity and photoluminescence were improved by decreasing surface tension and doping of Na ion, respectively. Properties of ZnO have been characterized by using X-ray diffraction (XRD), field emission scanning electron microscope (FE-SEM) and photoluminescence (PL) spectroscopy.
