- Abstract
- The purpose of this study was to simulate the hysteretic behavior of concrete-filled HSS(Hollow Structural Section) bracing members and to predict the fracture generated by local buckling in bracing member. The effect of concrete in a concrete-filled bracing members varies depending on the width-thickness ratio as well as effective slenderness ratio. And the local buckling mode in concrete-filled specimens is different depending on the width-thickness ratio. Then this study utilizes the physical theory model to simulate the hysteresis curve of brace. And fatigue parameters to predict the fracture are developed.
As a result, the refined fatigue parameters reflected the effect of local buckling are determined by regression analysis according to factors such as the width-thickness ratio and effecive slenderness ratio, Through the comparison of the experimental results and analytical results, it is revealed that the fracture model proposed by this study predicts well the fracture life.
