- Abstract
- 바로크 시대를 개괄하는 5권의 영어권 저서를 비교, 검토하였다. 각 저자가 생각하는 역사의 동력을 살피고, 역사적 단절의 계기와 연속성의 근거를 찾아보려고 노력하였다. 한편 예로 제시하는 작품들이 어떠한 근거로 선택되었으며 텍스트 안에서 어떠한 기능을 하는지 검토하였다. 이러한 검토를 통해서 바로크 역사가 역사가들에 따라서 각기 다르게 서술될 수 있는 가능성과 한계를 다시 한 번 생각해 보았다.
The article compared five different Baroque music history text books(for advanced readers) written in English. Through this research, the author tried to find the motive of each authors' historical writings on Baroque and to reveal the moments of historical discontinuity and continuity from their texts. Also the article pursued to find the criteria of authors' selection of musical examples in the contexts of those books
