- Abstract
- This paper presents a new protocol processing method for end-to-end QoS support over QoS-enabled networks. The proposed method processes network traffic on a priority basis while allowing a limited processing time budget for each network flow. We show that the proposed approach enables both prioritized services and QoS isolation between network flows, and that the protocol processing time for each network flow can be effectively bounded. Experiment results show that the proposed method outperforms conventional approaches in terms of both QoS and overall communication performance.
