- Abstract
- The purpose of this study is to analyze the difference of commercial land use on strips along commuting direction of some main arterial roads. Previous studies discuss that homeward-bound strips would be more commercialized and profitable by homeward-bound traffic in commercial land use on strips along some main arterial roads. However, few empirical studies for this subject have been conducted. In this regard, this study did analyze whether homward-bound strips are more commercialized than work-direction strips. On the basis of building data, this study were able to compare and analyze each of areas. The results of this study are shown as below. First, commercial intensity of homeward-bound strips is more intensive than work-direction strips. Second, the retail shops, restaurants and offices are more located in homeward-bound strips than any other business.
