공자의 인문학 강의와 인간의 삶 -공자의 문학교육과 역사교육의 인문치료적 의미에 대하여

Abstract

최근 우리 학계에 대두한 인문치료(人文治療; Humanities Therapy)는 인문학의 치유적 역할을 복원하여 인문학의 실용성과 그에 기초한 인문학의 위상과정체성을 확립해보려는 시도로서, 인문학의 주축을 이루고 있는 학문들인 문학․역사․철학을 활용하여 인간의 삶을 더욱 풍요롭고 행복하게 만들어주는 것을 목표로 하고 있다. 인문치료는 인문학적 기제와 방법을 활용한다는 점에서 의학이나 심리학에서가능한 치료와는 차이가 있다. 우선 의학에서 인간의 몸과 정신을 주요한 치료의대상으로 삼는다면 심리학에서는 인간의 심리를 주요한 치료 대상으로 본다. 그러나 인간의 심리나 육체를 대상으로 한다면, 이는 인간을 대상화하게 됨으로써 한계에 부딪힐 수밖에 없다.

Humanities Therapy is an ambitious attempt to obtain healthy and happy life using Humanities(Literature, History, and Philosophy). Humanities Therapy is different from medical treatment or psychotherapy because of the peculiar method and in that the object is the life of human itself. The purpose of this article is to find oriental model for naturalization of Humanities Therapy. We can find the clue from Confucius. Confucius especially emphasized Shi-jing(『詩經』) and 'fact' and they can be Literature and History. Confucius reminds the importance of Literature communicating with others and himself, and says that History gives the enlightenment of reviewing the old and learning the new(溫故知新). Confucius viewed the life of individual person in relationship and by doing so made it clear that the individual person is social being. The instruction of Literature and History which Confucius told about will be the advice and remedy for all the people who were wounded and suffering pain and had to live their lives in various relationships.
