- Abstract
- Robot-assisted surgery has become increasingly common and more sophisticated since it proven to provide benefits such as higher accuracy and smaller incisions. Most procedures in robot-assisted surgery are carried out by high technological surgical robots, but they require advanced visualization techniques for surgical planning and surgical navigation, as well as diagnosis or operations from image feedback. As a new approach to efficiently support robotassisted surgery, we propose a visualization technique using direct-projected augmented reality. The proposed technique provides interactive surgical planning and viewpointdependent visualization of surgical information not only to maximize the efficiency of robot-assisted surgery, but also to enhance human-robot interaction.
