dc.description.abstractThis paper presents the thermal characteristics of interior permanent magnet synchronous motor (IPMSM) for traction. In other to be a reliable traction system, electromagnetic and thermal characteristics of IPMSM are derived correctly. First of all, electromagnetic characteristics of the IPMSM at maximum torque and rated speed are calculated for estimating heat sources. Using results of electromagnetic behavior, thermal analysis of IPMSM is derived.-
