고등학생의 자의식, 불안과 방어기제간의 관계

Abstract

본 연구는 고등학생의 자의식, 불안과 방어기제간의 관계를 살펴보고, 자의식이 방어기제에 미치는 영향에서 불안의 매개효과를 검증하고자 하였다. 이를 위해 서울과 경기지역 인문고와 실업고 재학생 649명을 대상으로 설문조사를 실시하여, 분석한 결과 첫째, 성별, 학교별에 따라 자의식, 불안, 방어기제에 차이를 보였다. 둘째, 자의식, 불안, 방어기제 간 상관이 유의미했다. 그리고 불안, 사적ㆍ공적 자의식이 각각의 방어기제에 영향을 미쳤다. 허세에는 공적자의식만, 동일시, 통제, 유머에는 불안, 사적ㆍ공적 자의식, 투사에는 불안, 공적자의식, 억제, 왜곡, 신체화에는 불안과 사적자의식, 회피는 불안만이 영향을 미쳤다. 더불어, 자의식이 방어기제에 미치는 영향이 불안에 의해 매개되었다. 사적ㆍ공적 자의식이 동일시, 투사, 신체화에 미치는 영향에서 불안은 부분매개를 나타냈고, 회피에서는 완전매개를 나타냈다. 연구의 의의는 상담이나 생활지도에 필요한 기초자료를 제공하여 고등학생의 심리를 이해하고 적응적이고 건강한 정신건강유지를 돕는 데 있다.

The purpose of this study was to find the relationships among self-consciousness. anxiety, and defense mechanisms in adolescents and to examine how anxiety mediates the relationship between self-consciousness and defense mechanisms. The sample of this study consisted of 649 high school students at an academic and a technical institute in Seoul and Gyeonggi-do. Results are summarized as follows. First, there was found a significant difference in anxiety, self-consciousness, and defense mechanisms by sex, school. Second, self-consciousnesswas significantly correlated with anxiety and defense mechanisms. Also private and public self-consciousness and anxiety effects on each defense mechanism. Bravado is under the influence of public self-consciousness. Identification, humor, and control are under the influence of anxiety, private and public self-consciousness. Projection is under the influence of anxiety, public self-consciousness. Suppression, distortion, and somatization are under the influence of anxiety and private self-consciousness. Avoidance is under the influence of anxiety. And, anxiety mediated the relationship between self-consciousness and defense mechanisms. That is, anxiety partially mediated the effect of private and public self-consciousness on identification, projection, and somatization. Also, anxiety completely mediated the effect of private and public self-consciousness on avoidance.
